Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has urged Kylian Mbappe to overcome his recent penalty struggles after missing two crucial spot-kicks in consecutive matches.
Kylian Mbappé has missed two penalties since joining Real Madrid. The first miss occurred during a Champions League match against Liverpool on November 27, 2024, where his attempt was saved by goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher.
A week later, on December 4, 2024, he missed another penalty in a La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao, with Julen Agirrezabala saving his shot
When asked about Mbappe’s penalty struggles, Ancelotti acknowledged the difficulty of the situation but expressed optimism about the player’s overall form.
“Mbappe missed penalty again? Yes, penalties are an issue at the moment, sometimes you are confident, sometimes not,” Ancelotti said.
“He has to endure the moment, fight, and sacrifice himself because sooner or later it will end.
“What gives me a good feeling is that in the last two games, his intensity has improved.”
