Kylian Mbappe still a big doubt for El Clasico
Kylian Mbappe’s involvement in the upcoming El Clasico remains highly uncertain after he skipped another full first-team training session on Wednesday, according to Marca.
The Real Madrid star is still working individually as the club carefully tracks his recovery from a semitendinosus muscle issue in his left leg.
Mbappe was originally scheduled to undergo a fitness test on Wednesday, but that has now been pushed back, with an MRI scan planned for Thursday instead.
The results of that scan are expected to give Madrid a much clearer idea of how far along he is in his rehabilitation and whether he can realistically feature against Barcelona. If all goes well and there are no setbacks, the French forward is expected to join part of Thursday’s group session, which would be a crucial step towards a possible comeback.
Inside the club, Thursday is being treated as the decisive day for Álvaro Arbeloa and his staff to judge Mbappe’s chances of playing. Madrid are determined not to gamble with their top scorer’s fitness and will only consider him for El Clasico if the scan and training response show he is fully ready.
