Kylian Mbappe has reaffirmed his total commitment to Real Madrid, dismissing any suggestions that he is prioritizing the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup over his club responsibilities.

Speaking to the French program Téléfoot, the forward addressed growing speculation in Spain that he might be “managing his minutes” to ensure he remains injury-free for France’s national team this summer.

Mbappé was emphatic in his stance, asserting that peak performance at the international level is a direct byproduct of domestic success.

“In Spain, they’re a little worried that I won’t play. They think I’ll go straight to the World Cup,” Mbappé noted. “But the best way to arrive at the World Cup in top form is to win everything with Real Madrid.”

He further noted that the intense pressure at the Bernabéu is standard for any world-class player, citing legends like Cristiano Ronaldo and Alfredo Di Stéfano as examples of those who faced similar scrutiny.

The timing of his statement is critical as Real Madrid enters the decisive “business end” of the season. After a lingering knee injury sidelined him recently, Mbappé confirmed he is now 100% recovered and fully available for the final stretch.

His return to full fitness is a massive boost for manager Carlo Ancelotti as the club prepares for a heavyweight UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash against Bayern Munich on April 8.

Statistically, Mbappé’s first full season in Madrid has been prolific despite the injury interruption. As of late March 2026, he has netted 38 goals across all competitions, including 23 in La Liga and a tournament-leading 13 in the Champions League.

With the league title race heating up and a potential European trophy on the line, Mbappé’s focus remains locked on Madrid’s silverware ambitions.

For the Frenchman, domestic glory is not a distraction from the World Cup, but rather the essential preparation required to lead his country to another global title.
