Kylian Mbappé clarifies statement during Achraf Hakimi legal proceedings

Achraf Hakimi appeared before the investigating chamber of the Versailles Court of Appeal on Friday as the Moroccan defender continues efforts to have charges against him dismissed in an ongoing legal case dating back to 2023.

The latest developments in the case were reported by RMC Sport and have drawn renewed public attention following comments linked to Kylian Mbappé, Hakimi’s former teammate.

According to the report, the current Real Madrid CF forward gave a statement in 2023 which became central to discussions surrounding the investigation.

The wording of that testimony was later interpreted differently during legal proceedings, prompting Mbappé to clarify his remarks.

The report stated that Mbappé had originally referred to Hakimi having “engaged in mutual caresses with the woman on intimate parts”. However, the interpretation of that wording became contested during the case.

Mbappé subsequently clarified that he had specifically used the phrase “intimate parts” when speaking to investigators, rather than “the intimate parts”, a distinction that became significant during legal examination of the testimony.

The plaintiff’s lawyer argued that differences remained between the versions presented by the two men. Mbappé, however, reportedly maintained that nothing in his account suggested his former teammate had touched the woman’s private parts.

The investigating chamber is now expected to assess the evidence presented by all parties before deciding whether the case should proceed further or whether Hakimi’s request for dismissal will be accepted.

The situation has continued to attract attention given the high profile of both players, who previously played together at Paris Saint-Germain before Mbappé’s move to Real Madrid.

For now, the legal process remains ongoing, with the court expected to evaluate witness statements, clarifications and the broader body of evidence before reaching a final decision on the next stage of the case.
