English-Ghanaian attacker Kwadwo Baah’s late strike wasn’t enough to salvage a result for Watford as they fell 2-1 to Burnley at Turf Moor in a thrilling Championship encounter.

Burnley took control early when Jaidon Anthony slotted home in the 9th minute, converting Josh Brownhill’s pinpoint cross. Brownhill doubled the hosts’ advantage in the 62nd minute with a sublime left-footed finish into the top corner, assisted by Hannibal Mejbri.

Despite Burnley dominating possession (55%) and creating more opportunities, Watford showed resilience. The visitors clawed their way back when Baah capitalized on a corner in the 80th minute, firing a precise shot into the top right corner. The 20-year-old English-Ghanaian attacker’s effort was a highlight of the match, showcasing his technical brilliance and determination.

Burnley’s defense held firm in the closing stages, denying Watford an equalizer and securing their eighth win in head-to-head clashes against the Hornets. Watford, with 45% possession and nine total shots, will seek redemption against Portsmouth on December 26th.

Baah’s spirited performance was a bright spot in an otherwise frustrating outing for Watford.
