Kvaratskhelia faces lengthy recovery as Dembele offers support

Ousmane Dembele has sent a message of support to Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after the Georgia forward suffered a serious knee injury against Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Paris Saint-Germain confirmed on Wednesday that medical examinations had diagnosed Kvaratskhelia with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The French club said the 25-year-old will undergo surgery in the coming days. The injury occurred during Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-2 victory over Barcelona.

Dembele addressed Kvaratskhelia in a message posted on his official Instagram account, writing: “Stay strong, Kvara.”

Kvaratskhelia now faces a lengthy rehabilitation period, with the injury representing a significant setback for both the player and Paris Saint-Germain. The club have lost one of their leading attacking players, while Kvaratskhelia is determined to return stronger.

Dembele’s message was shared on social media on 21 October 2026.
