**Gohi Bi Cyriac Shines as KV Ostend Surprise Leaders in Belgium**
KV Ostend have emerged as the early sensations of the Jupiler Pro League, with new signing Gohi Bi Cyriac leading the charge. The Ivorian forward, who joined from Anderlecht, has been instrumental in Ostend’s strong start to the season.
Bi Cyriac has impressed on the left wing after initially starting in attack, combining speed, aerial ability, and an eye for goal. The Ivorian currently tops the league scoring charts with seven goals and has become a fan favourite at the Albertparkstadion.
“I needed to regain my confidence. I’m aiming for 15 goals this season,” Bi Cyriac told *RTBF*. “I’m a winner: when I score, I’m already thinking about the next goal. Whether it’s beautiful or ugly, from the shin or the heel, a goal is a goal—the most beautiful goal is the one that wins a trophy.”
Reflecting on his childhood passion for scoring, he added: “When I was little, I cried when I lost a neighbourhood match. Even if we lead 4-0, I want us to score a fifth. I’m a killer… but without the weapons!”
Bi Cyriac has also worked on refining his finishing with assistant coach Custovic, drawing inspiration from players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney for their movement and attacking runs.
Having recovered fully from previous injuries, the forward said: “I hesitated for a long time to pivot or put my foot down after my injuries. Today I’m 100% again. I jump as high as before; all the high balls are for me.”
With Bi Cyriac in top form, KV Ostend have become the surprise leaders of Belgium’s top flight, and the Ivorian’s performances continue to be pivotal to their success.
