KV Mechelen bring Simion Michez back to Belgium from Slavia Prague

Cameroonian-Belgian midfielder Simion Michez has joined KV Mechelen from Slavia Prague, returning to Belgium for the next chapter of his career.

The 24-year-old right midfielder completed the move on 27 August 2026 and has agreed a contract with the Jupiler Pro League club until 30 June 2029. Mechelen will be Michez’s latest club after a spell in the Czech Republic with Slavia, where he was registered until making the switch.

Michez moved to Slavia from Beerschot VA in September 2024 for €2.2m. He had joined Beerschot from Anderlecht’s reserve side, RSCA Futures, on a free transfer in July 2023.

His time at Slavia also included a loan spell with Sigma Olomouc during the 2025-26 season. Michez moved to the Czech club in July 2025 before returning to Slavia in January 2026, having spent part of the campaign away from his parent club.

The move to Mechelen brings Michez back to the country where he won the Belgian Second League title with Beerschot in the 2023-24 season. He later added a Czech championship winners’ medal with Slavia in 2024-25.

Born in Charleroi, Michez has both Belgian and Cameroonian nationality. He developed in Anderlecht’s youth system, progressing from the club’s academy to the Under-18 side before joining Anderlecht U21 in 2020. His transfer to Beerschot three years later began his senior club career outside Anderlecht.

Michez is a right-footed midfielder and stands 1.78m tall. His arrival gives Mechelen a player with experience of Belgian and Czech football, as well as domestic league success in both countries.

The transfer was completed on 27 August, with Michez now under contract at KV Mechelen through the end of June 2029.
