Kuwaiti outfit Al-Qadsia have announced the appointment of Tunisian gaffer Nabil Maaloul as their new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 football campaign.
His move marks his return to the Asian country, having previously had spells the Kuwaiti national team between 2014 and 2017, in addition to leading Kuwait in the 2021-2022 and 2023-2024 seasons.
The 62-year-old experienced trainer penned a one-year deal to become the new coach of the Kuwaiti national team. He is expected to be in charge of the team until summer 2026.
“I am very happy to be returning to Kuwait and to have the experience of coaching Al-Qadisiyah. I hope that the next season will be special and that we will achieve more accomplishments and titles together.” He said.
Maaloul has an impressive coaching record, having coached the Tunisian and Syrian national teams, and led prestigious clubs such as Esperance Sportive de Tunis, Al-Duhail SC of Qatar, and USM Alger of Algeria.
Among his most notable achievements are winning the CAF Champions League in 2011 with Esperance, and leading the Tunisian national team to the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.
