Kuwait to host 2026 Saudi Super Cup in December

The 2026 Saudi Super Cup will be staged in Kuwait, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation announced on Monday.

The tournament will take place from 19 to 23 December at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, with Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli, Al-Qadsiah and Al-Kholood set to compete.

Kuwait will become the eighth destination to host the Saudi Super Cup. Previous editions have been held in Mecca, Riyadh, Jeddah and Abha, as well as in London, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong.

The draw for the competition is scheduled to take place on 14 October.

Al-Ahli won the most recent edition, held in Hong Kong, after beating Al-Nassr 5-3 on penalties.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation published comments from Kuwait Football Association president Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, who said hosting the tournament reflected the strong fraternal relations between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

He added that he was looking forward to organising a successful edition that would match the standing of the Saudi Super Cup and the clubs taking part.
