Kurt Zouma: Palm City linked with move for France and Central African Republic defender from Al-Wasl

France and Central African Republic centre-back Kurt Zouma is being linked with a move from UAE Pro League side Al-Wasl to Palm City, with the experienced defender potentially available as a free agent.

The 31-year-old, valued at €3.00m on Transfermarkt, is currently listed without a defined contract expiry date at Al-Wasl, fuelling speculation that Palm City could move for him if his deal has already run down or is allowed to lapse. The probability of the transfer is currently reported as “?”, underlining that talks remain at the rumour stage.

Zouma, who stands at 1.90m and wears the No 5 shirt for Al-Wasl, has been operating in his usual role at the heart of defence in the UAE Pro League. In his most recent outing, he featured for Al-Wasl in a league fixture earlier this month, helping his side navigate a tight scoreline against domestic opponents as they continue their campaign in the Gulf. His right-footed profile and aerial strength remain central to his game.

Born in Lyon on 27 October 1994, Zouma holds both French and Central African Republic nationality. A defender by trade, his main position is centre-back, and he has built a career across several top leagues before arriving at Al-Wasl in Dubai. His current club lists him within their squad rather than any national team set-up, emphasising his club-focused phase at this stage of his career.

With his market value modest by elite European standards, Palm City could see an opportunity to secure an experienced defender on a free transfer if his contract situation allows. Should the move materialise, it would mark the latest chapter in Zouma’s late-career reinvention in the Gulf and could yet extend his reputation as a seasoned organiser at the back in Middle Eastern football.
