Newly promoted Ukrainian side Kudrivka have strengthened their squad ahead of their first season in the top flight by completing the signing of Congolese midfielder Kaya Makosso from Venezuela’s Academia Puerto Cabello.
The 27-year-old arrives as part of Kudrivka’s efforts to build a competitive squad capable of coping with the demands of the Ukrainian Premier League, following their promotion.
Makosso is expected to add experience and balance to the defensive midfield, an area viewed by the club as crucial as they prepare for a challenging campaign at the highest domestic level.
Makosso joins from Academia Puerto Cabello, where he featured in Venezuela’s top division.
His move marks a new chapter in a career that has already taken him across several footballing cultures.
For the player, it will be his first experience of Ukrainian football and his first season competing in the country’s premier division.
The Congolese midfielder brings with him a varied European background.
Earlier in his career, he played in Norway, representing IK Start and Moss, gaining exposure to Scandinavian football and its physical demands.
He later moved to Spain, where he featured for Vélez and Real Balompédica Linense, continuing to develop his game in a more technical environment.
These contrasting experiences are expected to be valuable assets as Kudrivka look to adapt quickly to life in the top tier.
At international level, Makosso has also left his mark.
He represented Congo Brazzaville at under-20 level, earning six caps and scoring four goals.
Those performances highlighted his ability to contribute not only defensively but also in more advanced situations, offering versatility that could prove important for his new club.
For Kudrivka, the signing reflects a clear strategy as they prepare for their debut season in the Ukrainian Premier League.

Promotion has brought new expectations, and recruitment has focused on players with experience outside the domestic game who can handle pressure and adapt to unfamiliar surroundings.
Makosso’s background across multiple leagues aligns with that approach.
While the challenges ahead are significant, both club and player will view this move as an opportunity.
Kudrivka gain an experienced midfielder accustomed to adapting to new environments, while Makosso steps onto a new stage in his career, aiming to establish himself in a top-flight European league and play a key role in his club’s historic season.
