Liverpool Defender Kolo Touré Linked with Trabzonspor Move
Liverpool centre-back Kolo Touré could be set for a summer departure as the club looks to reshape its squad ahead of the new season.
The 33-year-old Ivorian international is reportedly on the radar of Turkish side Trabzonspor, now managed by Vahid Halilhodžić, who previously coached Touré during his stint in charge of the Ivory Coast national team between 2008 and 2010.
According to the Daily Mail, Touré’s potential exit would pave the way for Southampton’s Dejan Lovren, who has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield.
Touré, whose contract runs until 2015, joined Liverpool on a free transfer from Manchester City last summer. He made 24 appearances during the Reds’ Premier League title challenge last season.
A move to Turkey would bring an end to Touré’s long spell in English football, having previously played for Arsenal and Manchester City since arriving from ASEC Mimosas in 2002.
