Kobe Bryant may be an NBA legend, but during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, he was fully in football mode!
The Los Angeles Lakers guard, fresh from injury recovery, took time to enjoy the World Cup atmosphere and even showcased his football skills in an indoor match — proving once again that his footwork isn’t just reserved for the hardwood.
Kobe witnessed Portugal’s heavy 4-0 defeat to Germany firsthand and was later hosted by then-FIFA president Sepp Blatter. Blatter even tweeted:
“Fantastic to meet @kobebryant at Arena Fonte Nova for #GER #POR. He loves football. Plays too!”
You can catch Kobe’s football moment in this Dailymotion clip, where he displays some neat dribbling skills.
It’s not the first time Kobe has shared his passion for the sport — he’s often spoken about his love for football, which grew during his childhood years in Italy. Whether it’s basketball or football, the Black Mamba always brings style.
