Bayern Munich Denies Interest in Sami Khedira Amid Transfer Speculation
Bayern Munich president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has dismissed rumours linking the club with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira as “a joke.”
The speculation, first reported by Spanish outlet Marca, suggested that Bayern were keen to persuade Khedira, 27, to see out the final year of his contract at Real Madrid and join the Bavarian giants on a free transfer next summer.
However, Rummenigge was quick to quash the rumours, telling German news agency DPA: “It’s a joke.”
Khedira, who featured 13 times and scored once in La Liga last season, has also been the subject of interest from several English clubs since the start of the transfer window.
