SAMI KHEDIRA SET FOR SCHALKE SWITCH?
With his contract at Real Madrid expiring, Sami Khedira appears to be edging closer to a return to the Bundesliga. Long linked with a move to Schalke 04, the speculation has now been given more weight by Dutch outlet Telegraaf, which reports that the German international has already signed a multi-year deal with the Gelsenkirchen club.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who has struggled for consistent game time at Real Madrid in recent seasons, is seen as the top priority for Schalke’s management as they look to reinforce their midfield.
If confirmed, Khedira’s arrival would likely coincide with the departure of Kevin-Prince Boateng, who is expected to leave Schalke at the end of the campaign.
The move would mark a return to Germany for Khedira, who made his name at VfB Stuttgart before joining Real Madrid in 2010. The coming summer transfer window will reveal whether this reported agreement is made official.
