Khalil Ayari: Tunisian winger at Paris SG U23 linked with move to Basel in Swiss Super League switch

Tunisian right winger Khalil Ayari of Paris SG U23 is being linked with a move to Swiss Super League side Basel as the 21-year-old considers his next step in Europe.

Ayari, a left-footed attacker born in Tunis, joined Paris SG’s youth set-up from Stade Tunisien and is currently valued at around €1m. His contract with the French club runs until 30 June 2026, a situation that could encourage Basel to push for a deal while his fee remains relatively modest.

Basel’s interest comes after Ayari gained senior experience in Tunisia, including a spell with Stade Tunisien in which he featured in Ligue 1 and lifted the Tunisian Cup in the 2023-24 season. A loan move from Stade Tunisien to Paris SG U23 in 2025 was later made permanent in July 2026, underlining the regard in which the French club hold the winger.

Ayari’s most recent competitive action includes appearances in the Premier League International Cup at under-21 level, where he started all his matches and found the net once. He is also part of Tunisia’s squad pool for the 2026 World Cup, although he has yet to feature at the tournament.

Basel are monitoring Ayari as they assess options to add pace and creativity in wide areas, with the Swiss club exploring a potential deal ahead of the new campaign. For now, Ayari remains under contract with Paris SG U23 until 2026, leaving negotiations between the clubs as the key to any move.
