MC Alger has confirmed the appointment of Tunisian coach Khaled Ben Yahia as the club’s new head coach on a six-month contract. The announcement was made on Tuesday, December 17, through the club’s official Facebook page, following the amicable departure of French coach Patrice Beaumelle.
This marks Ben Yahia’s return to the Algerian champions, having previously managed the team during the 2021/2022 season.
His first stint saw him oversee 34 matches, recording 13 wins, 12 draws, and 9 losses.
Coaching Team Revealed
In his new tenure, Ben Yahia will be supported by an experienced coaching staff. Former Dibba Al-Hisn coach Othmane Najjar has been appointed as his assistant, while Sabri Bouazizi will join as the team’s physical trainer.
In an official statement, MC Alger expressed confidence in Ben Yahia’s familiarity with the club and his ability to steer the team forward:
“This evening, Tunisian coach Khaled Ben Yahia was appointed as the new coach of our club, Mouloudia Club d’Alger, for a period of six months.
He succeeds French coach Patrice Amire Beaumelle, who terminated his contract amicably yesterday.”
The statement continued, highlighting Ben Yahia’s prior experience with the club:
“The Tunisian technician Khaled Ben Yahia knows the MCA house well, having already led the club’s technical staff two and a half seasons ago.”
Transition in Leadership
The decision to part ways with Beaumelle was described as mutual, with the club emphasizing a smooth transition in leadership.
Beaumelle’s departure comes amid MC Alger’s efforts to maintain their dominance as reigning champions and to achieve greater success in the upcoming competitions.
Ben Yahia’s return is seen as a strategic move, leveraging his familiarity with the club’s environment and his prior coaching record to bring stability and renewed energy to the team.

Supporters will be eager to see how the experienced Tunisian coach, along with his newly assembled team, navigates the challenges of the current season and works to keep MC Alger at the pinnacle of Algerian football.
