Khaled Bebo takes charge at Zed with fresh ambition
Khaled Bebo has stepped into a new chapter as Zed’s director of football, bringing his rich experience and calm authority to the Egyptian Premier League side.
He replaces Walid Salah El-Din, who departed to join Al-Ahly in the same role.
Zed confirmed the appointment through its X account with a warm message: “Khaled Bebo is the director of football… We welcome you to our family.”
The 49-year-old carries a deep football legacy. As a player, he wore the colors of Al Ahly, Ismaily, Suez and Petrojet, earning respect for his sharp attacking instincts. After retirement, he quietly built his path off the pitch, taking charge of technical roles in second division clubs including Gasco and El Sekka El Hadid.
Bebo later became president of Al Ahly’s youth sector and sat on the club’s planning committee before leading its football department during the 2023-2024 season. That journey shaped him into a steady football thinker.
At Zed, he joins a technical setup led by Mohamed Shawky, with talks ongoing to find a new general coach. Zed next face Ismaily in Friday’s sixth round fixture.
