The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) has been diligently engaged in the search for a worthy successor. However, a notable twist has emerged as Khaled Badra, initially listed among the committee members tasked with identifying potential candidates for the coaching role, has formally rejected the FTF’s proposal.
The FTF recently issued a press release outlining its intention to include Khaled Badra in the committee responsible for evaluating potential coaching prospects for the Tunisian national team.
Nonetheless, Badra, a former Tunisian player of renown, has opted not to accept the offer extended by the football governing body.
In a statement addressing his decision, Badra expressed his commitment to contributing to Tunisian football but raised concerns about the lack of prior consultation regarding his inclusion in the committee.
Notably, he voiced his surprise upon learning about Wassef Jlaiel, the current interim president of the FTF, who had reportedly contacted him without prior acquaintance.
Badra emphasized the need for transparency and collaboration with trustworthy individuals in any potential involvement with the FTF.
He highlighted the inconsistency of being approached for service after a prolonged 12-year period of apparent neglect.
The former Tunisian player articulated his conditions for national service, underlining the importance of ethical collaboration.
The unexpected turn of events leaves the FTF in the position of seeking an alternative candidate to fill the void left by Khaled Badra’s refusal.
As the search for the next coach continues, the FTF faces the task of not only identifying a capable leader for the national team but also navigating the complexities of collaboration and communication with former football figures who hold a critical role in Tunisia’s football legacy.
