Kevin-Mbiki Massakidi begins new chapter with Kapellen-Erft
Germany and DR Congo midfielder Kevin-Mbiki Massakidi has joined Kapellen-Erft from U. Schafhausen on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old defensive midfielder switches clubs in Germany’s regional football structure and has signed a contract running until 30 June 2027. He will continue his career in the LL Niederrhein-Gr. 2 after leaving U. Schafhausen, who compete in the LL Mittelrhein 2.
Massakidi brings experience in a central midfield role and is naturally right-footed. His move gives Kapellen-Erft a player whose primary position is defensive midfield, adding another established option to their squad for the new campaign.
His recorded appearances across the LL Mittelrhein 2, Mittelrheinpokal and Mittelrheinliga amount to 47 matches, with four goals and three assists. The figures include 43 league appearances in the LL Mittelrhein 2, where he scored four times and provided two assists, as well as three cup appearances and one appearance in the Mittelrheinliga.
Massakidi’s most recent club was U. Schafhausen, whom he joined from Schafhausen II on 1 July 2025. His time at Schafhausen followed earlier spells with BC Oberbruch, U. Schafhausen and Heinsberg-Lieck, having begun his youth career with FC Wegberg before progressing through Wegberg-Beeck’s under-17 and under-19 teams.
The move to Kapellen-Erft marks another change within the regional leagues for a player who has built his senior career in German football. His previous transfer to U. Schafhausen came after a season with Schafhausen II, while his earlier switch from BC Oberbruch to that side was also completed without a fee.
Kapellen-Erft confirmed the arrival as part of their preparations for a season in the LL Niederrhein-Gr. 2. Massakidi’s international eligibility reflects both Germany and the Democratic Republic of Congo, while his club career has remained in Germany.
He will remain with Kapellen-Erft until the end of June 2027.
