Romanian Liga I newcomers Gloria Buzău have reinforced their frontline with the signing of Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Kevin Luckassen for the remainder of the season.
The 31-year-old, who previously featured for several Romanian clubs, arrives on a free transfer after parting ways with Saudi Arabian side Al-Batin earlier in the campaign.
A brief club statement welcoming the former FC Rapid forward read: “We wish him good luck and many successes in the red-blue shirt.”
Luckassen is no stranger to Romanian football, having played for Politehnica Iasi, Farul Constanta, Sepsi OSK Sf. Gheorghe, FC Rapid, and UTA Arad.
Before his exit from Al-Batin, he managed one goal in 14 appearances during the 2024-25 Saudi season.
Despite representing the Netherlands at the U18 and U19 levels, Luckassen remains eligible to switch allegiance to Ghana, thanks to his heritage.
His return to Liga I adds firepower to Gloria Buzău’s frontline as they aim to secure their top-flight status.
