Keres Masangu becomes available after ending Patro Eisden spell

Belgian-DR Congo midfielder Keres Masangu is now without a club after leaving Patro Eisden, bringing his latest spell in the Challenger Pro League to an end.

Masangu, 26, departed the Belgian side on 27 August 2026 after joining them from FCV Dender EH in September 2025. The defensive midfielder made no appearances in the opening two possible Challenger Pro League matches of the 2026-27 season before his departure.

Born in Antwerp, Masangu is eligible to represent both Belgium and the Democratic Republic of Congo. He stands 1.85m tall and plays primarily in defensive midfield, with his right foot listed as his preferred foot.

His time at Patro Eisden followed a two-year spell with FCV Dender EH, where he arrived from RE Virton in July 2023. The move to Dender was a free transfer, and Masangu subsequently spent the 2025-26 campaign at Patro Eisden.

The midfielder began his senior career with Beerschot VA, joining the club from Roma’s under-19 side in September 2020. His time in Belgium came after an earlier period in Italy, where he was involved with Roma’s youth setup and spent part of the 2018-19 season on loan at Sassuolo’s under-20 side.

Masangu’s youth career began in Belgium. He spent time at Aalst, KV Mechelen, Lierse SK and Anderlecht before moving into Roma’s academy. His first recorded move to Italy came in July 2017, when he joined Roma’s under-19 team from KV Mechelen’s under-17 side for a fee of €230,000.

He also had a loan spell with Croatian club HNK Sibenik during the 2020-21 season before returning to Beerschot. His subsequent moves to RE Virton and FCV Dender EH were completed without a transfer fee.

Masangu leaves Patro Eisden with a listed market value of €350,000 and is now officially without a club.
