Kelvin Matute: Cameroon midfielder joins Agropoli on free transfer from Pomigliano
Cameroon midfielder Kelvin Matute has joined Italian side Agropoli on a free transfer from Pomigliano.
The 37-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027, committing the veteran to the club for the next campaign. The move was finalised on 26 July 2026, with Matute linking up immediately with his new team-mates.
Matute, born in Buea and standing at 1.86m, specialises in the holding midfield role and is right-footed. His arrival gives Agropoli an experienced option at the base of midfield as they continue to shape their squad for the new season.
The Cameroonian brings significant experience in Italian football, including a Serie D title on his CV. He won the Scudetto Serie D in 2019 with Avellino, underlining his familiarity with the demands of the lower divisions and promotion battles in the Italian game.
Matute switches to Agropoli after his spell with Pomigliano, remaining in Italy as he extends a career that has been built largely in the country. His new contract ties him to Agropoli until the end of June 2027, confirming a permanent move on a free transfer.
