Kelechi Iheanacho eyes first Celtic trophy ahead of Scottish Cup final
Celtic forward Kelechi Iheanacho will be hoping to secure his first piece of silverware with the club when the Hoops face St. Mirren in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park on Sunday.
The Nigerian international has previously enjoyed cup success in England, having lifted the League Cup during his spell at Manchester City, before adding the FA Cup and FA Community Shield to his honours list with Leicester City.
Now aged 29, Iheanacho has another opportunity to add a domestic trophy to his career achievements.
The striker recently made his return to action in Celtic’s UEFA Europa League defeat to AS Roma on Thursday, marking his comeback after nearly two months out with a hamstring injury.
His availability comes at a crucial time for Celtic, who are eager to halt a poor run of form following defeats in their last two matches.
Celtic will take confidence from their performances against St Mirren this season, having beaten them twice, as they aim to rediscover momentum in the season’s showpiece final.
