Kedah FA add Guinea centre-back Ibrahima Barry from Brothers Union

Guinean centre-back Ibrahima Barry has joined Malaysian club Kedah FA from Bangladesh Football League side Brothers Union on a free transfer.

The 26-year-old defender completed the move on 5 August 2026 and will play in Malaysia’s A1 Semi-Pro League. Barry, who stands at 1.90m and favours his right foot, moves to Kedah after a short spell with Brothers Union.

Barry joined Brothers Union from Al Hamidiya on a free transfer on 31 January 2026. His move to Kedah is his second club change of the year and continues a career in which he has also represented sides including Porto Suez, Al-Wahda Tripoli, Ted Afrique and Al-Ghazwa.

The defender’s recorded competitive appearances include nine matches in the Bangladesh Football League and one Federation Cup fixture. He played 687 minutes in the league and completed the full 90 minutes in his cup appearance.

Barry began his senior career with Al-Ghazwa before moving to Ted Afrique in 2020. He subsequently joined Al-Wahda Tripoli, Porto Suez and Al Hamidiya, with each of those transfers completed without a fee. His latest switch also comes without a transfer fee, as he leaves Brothers Union for Kedah FA.

The move gives Kedah a new central defensive option ahead of their campaign in Malaysia’s second-tier competition. Barry’s experience across clubs in Bangladesh, Egypt, Libya and Malaysia adds another international chapter to his career, while his size and right-footed profile define the role he is likely to occupy in the squad.

Barry’s arrival is Kedah FA’s latest completed piece of transfer business for the 2026-27 season. He joins the Malaysian club from Brothers Union after less than seven months with the Bangladesh side, completing the move as a free agent.
