Karl Toko-Ekambi rejects Rodina Moscow offer over salary demands

Karl Toko-Ekambi remains without a club after rejecting an approach from FC Rodina Moscow, with the 34-year-old Cameroon international seeking a salary close to 2 million euros per season.

The former Lyon forward has been actively looking for his next destination since leaving Al Arabi SC. Attempts to secure a return to Ligue 1 or a move to Morocco have not materialised, and he is now considering opportunities outside those markets.

FC Rodina Moscow made a formal proposal for Toko-Ekambi, according to Sport24. The Russian club offered an annual salary of about 800,000 euros to the experienced striker.

Financial terms quickly became the main obstacle in negotiations. Toko-Ekambi turned down the offer after setting his salary expectations at nearly 2 million euros a season.

The gap between the two proposals proved too large for the Moscow club to bridge. FC Rodina subsequently ended the discussions, leaving Toko-Ekambi available on the transfer market as he continues his search for a new club.
