Karl Etta Eyong resumes individual training after injury at Levante
Karl Etta Eyong has returned to individual training at Levante after being sidelined since the end of August, taking another step towards a return to competitive action.
The Cameroon striker has used the international break to continue his recovery alongside Levante’s other injured players, including Hugo Sotelo. The club’s medical and technical staff are monitoring their progress as they work towards returning them to full fitness.
Etta Eyong is currently training separately from the rest of the squad as he rebuilds his fitness following the injury. His workload is expected to increase gradually before he can resume full training with his team-mates.
The 23-year-old’s return to individual work represents progress in his recovery, although there is no indication that Levante are prepared to accelerate the process.
The striker will need to regain his physical condition and build up his workload before the club considers bringing him back into group sessions.
Etta Eyong’s eventual return could give Levante another attacking option as they prepare for the next stage of their league campaign. Since joining the Valencian club, the Cameroon international has shown his ability to provide strength and a physical presence in the final third.
Levante are already looking ahead to their return to league action, with Sevilla FC due to visit on Monday, 12 October.
The international break gives the club time to assess players who are recovering from injuries while also preparing the squad for the next fixture.
For Etta Eyong, the immediate priority remains completing his recovery without rushing the process. His progress during the coming days will determine when he can move from individual work to training with his team-mates.
That assessment will also provide a clearer picture of whether he can be considered for the match against Sevilla.
Levante’s medical and coaching staff will therefore continue to monitor the forward as he increases his workload. His return to the squad will depend on how his body responds to the next stages of his rehabilitation.
For now, the Cameroon striker has taken an important step forward by returning to the training pitch, but a full return to competition remains dependent on his continued progress.
