Karim Rekik, a player with dual nationality, was part of the group of Tunisian players that the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) had hoped to see represent the Carthage Eagles one day.
However, the operation to bring Rekik to the Tunisian national team seems to have been unsuccessful. The 18-year-old defender, currently on loan to PSV Eindhoven from Manchester City, has been called up by Louis Van Gaal, the coach of the Netherlands, for the upcoming European zone qualifiers for the 2014 Brazil World Cup. The Dutch team will face Estonia on September 6 and Andorra on September 10.
