Karim Konate linked with Dortmund as Salzburg striker’s form attracts attention
Ivory Coast forward Karim Konate is being linked with a move from Salzburg to Dortmund, with the 22-year-old currently valued at €12m.
Konate has scored four goals in six Bundesliga appearances for Salzburg this season, while also contributing two goals and an assist in four Europa League qualifying matches. The centre-forward has featured in both domestic and European competition, although he has not been a regular starter in the league.
The striker joined Salzburg from Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas in July 2022 for €3.5m and spent part of that season on loan with FC Liefering before returning to the Austrian club. He went on to finish as the Bundesliga’s leading scorer in the 2023-24 campaign with 20 goals.
Konate was also part of the Ivory Coast squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2024 and was named Salzburg’s best young player that year.
The reported move would take him to Dortmund, but there has been no confirmation of an agreement or transfer fee. His current contract with Salzburg runs until 30 June 2028, giving the club a long-term commitment to the striker as the rumour develops.
