Karim Hamed joins Bank El Ahly as Egyptian winger returns home

Karim Hamed, the 20-year-old Egypt winger, has joined Bank El Ahly from Greek club Panserraikos on a free transfer.

The left-sided attacker has signed a contract running until 30 June 2029, completing his move to the Egyptian Premier League club on 15 August 2026. Hamed, who prefers his right foot, plays primarily as a left winger and stands 1.78m tall.

Hamed arrives at Bank El Ahly after two years with Panserraikos, having initially moved to the Greek club from Zamalek Under-19s in August 2024, also on a free transfer. His time in Greece included a loan spell with Chania during the 2025-26 campaign before he returned to Panserraikos at the end of June.

During his recorded career with Panserraikos and Chania, Hamed featured in Greek youth and senior competitions. He made 17 appearances in the Super League U19, scoring seven goals and providing six assists. He also scored once in a Kypello U19 appearance.

The winger added senior experience through appearances in the Super League 2, the Kypello Elladas and the Super League play-out competition. He played 10 matches in Super League 2, while also making one appearance each in the Greek Cup and the Super League play-out.

Hamed’s move brings him back to Egypt after a spell in Greek football that followed his development at Zamalek’s Under-19 side. He joins Bank El Ahly with a listed market value of €50,000 and becomes part of a club competing in the country’s top division.

His transfer history also includes a loan move from Panserraikos to Chania on 5 August 2025, followed by his return to the Greek club on 30 June 2026. The change of club marks his first recorded senior move to an Egyptian side since leaving Zamalek’s youth ranks.

The completed deal gives Bank El Ahly an Egyptian wide player with experience of both youth and senior football in Greece. Hamed is now contracted to the club until the end of June 2029.
