Al Ahly have extended Karim El Debes’ contract until 2030, making him the fifth player to agree a new deal with the Egyptian club during the current renewal campaign.
The Cairo club confirmed the agreement in an official statement on Wednesday evening, continuing a push designed to provide greater stability within the squad.
“Karim El Debes has extended his contract with the club until 2030. Essam Sirag El-Din, head of the contracts sector, completed all administrative and financial procedures in full co-ordination with Wail Gomaa, football director,” Al Ahly said.
El Debes joins Imam Ashour, Marwan Atta, Mostafa Shobeir and Omar Moawad in securing an extended stay with the club.
Al Ahly have tied Imam Ashour, Marwan Atta, Omar Moawad and El Debes to long-term contracts running until 2030. Shobeir’s new agreement lasts until 2029.
The latest announcement represents the fifth contract renewal completed by Al Ahly in the current period, as the club works to maintain continuity among its group of players.
The Egyptian champions have also made a strong start to the Egyptian Premier League under Moroccan manager Hussein Ammouta. They opened their league campaign with victories in their first two matches, against Eastern Company, ENPPI and ZED, as reported in the source account.
Al Ahly are due to play Smouha on Thursday in the third round of the Egyptian Premier League. The match will be the club’s next opportunity to build on that positive opening and continue their early momentum under Ammouta.
The renewal of El Debes’ contract follows the deals already agreed with four of his team-mates. By securing the futures of four players through 2030 and extending Shobeir’s contract to 2029, Al Ahly have placed a clear emphasis on retaining members of their current squad for the long term.
The club’s announcement was accompanied by a brief social-media message confirming the extension: “Karim El Debes extends his contract with the club until 2030.”
Al Ahly’s latest contract decision comes while the team prepares for its third league fixture, with the club’s early results providing a positive backdrop to the wider effort to strengthen stability within the squad.
