Karim Benzema injury concern gives Al-Hilal major headache before Saudi League finale
Karim Benzema has become a major injury concern for Al Hilal SFC ahead of the decisive final round of the Saudi Roshan League season.
The French star continues to struggle with fitness problems following another injury setback that ruled him out of Al-Hilal’s recent 2-0 victory over Neom SC.
Al-Hilal previously confirmed that Benzema missed the match because of an adductor muscle injury.
Benzema to undergo further medical tests
According to Saudi reports, Karim Benzema is expected to undergo intensive medical and physical examinations in the coming hours to determine whether he will be available for the crucial clash against Al Fayha FC.
The reports added that the striker’s participation remains highly doubtful, with club officials reluctant to risk aggravating the injury before the end of the season.
Benzema’s recurring fitness problems have continued to worry Al-Hilal since his arrival during the last winter transfer window.
Strong impact despite injury struggles
Despite his short time with Al Hilal SFC, the former Real Madrid CF striker has made an immediate impact in Saudi football.
The French forward has featured in 10 league matches, scoring nine goals and providing two assists.
His performances quickly established him as one of the most influential attacking players in Al-Hilal’s squad during the title race.
Saudi title race goes down to the final day
Al-Hilal currently sit second in the Saudi Roshan League standings with 81 points, just two behind leaders Al Nassr FC.
The title race will now be decided during the final round of the season in what has become one of the league’s most dramatic finishes in recent years.
Al-Hilal must defeat Al-Fayha and hope that Al-Nassr fail to win against Damac FC in order to snatch the league title.
The uncertainty surrounding Karim Benzema’s condition has therefore added even more tension ahead of the decisive final day of the campaign.
