Karim Benzema is set to depart Real Madrid, as the French striker, who has fallen out of favor with the public due to his goal-scoring drought, is expected to make a move to London with the Gunners.
As per the Evening Standard, Real Madrid and Arsenal have reportedly finalized an agreement for the transfer of the former Lyon player during the winter transfer window. The deal is said to be worth 23.5 million euros for the Franco-Algerian forward. Additionally, the agreement includes a non-competition clause, preventing Arsenal from pursuing the Luis Suarez deal, a player who had caught the interest of the London club during the summer and aspires to join Casa Blanca.
Benzema, who is requesting time to rediscover his goal-scoring form, has a limited window to change the opinions of Real Madrid’s staff and management. Perhaps the conclusion of his disappointing record with the national team will serve as the catalyst he needs to reclaim his status as a quality center forward.
