Karim Aribi: Algerian striker joins Al-Minaa SC on free transfer from Al-Talaba SC
Algerian centre-forward Karim Aribi has joined Iraqi side Al-Mina’a SC on a free transfer from Iraq Stars League rivals Al-Talaba SC. The 32-year-old, who stands at 1.92m and plays primarily as a central striker, makes the move with an immediate effect as Al-Mina’a reshape their attacking options.
Aribi had been with Al-Talaba since July 2025, when he also arrived on a free after leaving Algerian club MC Oran. His switch keeps him in the Iraq Stars League, with Al-Mina’a opting to secure an experienced forward without paying a fee despite his current market value being listed at 225,000.
The Reghaia-born attacker has built a career across North Africa, Europe and the Middle East, with previous spells at Ohod Club and Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia, as well as a stint in France with Nimes Olympique following a 1m move from ES Sahel in 2020. Earlier in his career he established himself in Algeria with CR Belouizdad, CA Batna and DRB Tadjenanet.
Aribi brings a strong track record of top-flight experience, including more than 100 appearances in Algerias Ligue 1 and further outings in the Saudi First Division and the Iraq Stars League. He has also shown his scoring touch on the continental stage with goals in the CAF Champions League.
The forward, a right-footer, has twice lifted major domestic honours in Algeria, winning the league and cup with CR Belouizdad. Aribi now continues his career in Basra, where he links up with Al-Mina’a SC following his free transfer from Al-Talaba SC on 10 July 2026.
