Karim Adeyemi has returned to full training with Dortmund
Karim Adeyemi is fully back in team training and available for Borussia Dortmund again after his recent muscle fibre tear.
Head coach Niko Kovac confirmed at Wednesday’s press conference that the winger has completed the step back into full sessions with the squad.
“Karim is back in full training,” the coach explained, underlining that the 24-year-old has cleared the final hurdles in his recovery.
Adeyemi had been out since mid-April and only rejoined parts of team training last week, as Dortmund carefully managed his workload following the injury.
Now that he is fully integrated again, a return to the matchday squad for Friday night’s Bundesliga clash with Eintracht Frankfurt is considered very likely. His pace and directness in the final third could offer BVB an extra spark from the bench in a key fixture.
A starting spot, however, is not yet on the cards in Kovac’s view. The coach pointed out that Adeyemi has not played a single Bundesliga minute in the last three to four weeks and does not want to take unnecessary risks. Instead, he sees the attacker primarily as an impact substitute for now, confident that Adeyemi can still make a difference if he comes on later in the game.
