Karim Adeyemi future remains uncertain at Dortmund
Karim Adeyemi has spoken openly about his future at Borussia Dortmund, stressing that he wants clarity from the club as speculation over his next step continues.
The attacker is under contract until 2027, but there has been no breakthrough in extension talks, and repeated exit rumours are adding pressure around his situation. BVB sporting director Ole Book recently admitted it is “not the preferred solution” to let Adeyemi enter the final year of his deal, underlining the need for a timely decision.
In an interview with Ruhr Nachrichten, the 24-year-old underlined his stance on Dortmund’s role in his plans. “I’ve declared my allegiance to Dortmund often enough. I don’t need to repeat it constantly,” he said, adding that it is most important for him “to play for a club that plans with me and communicates that clearly to me”.
At the same time, Adeyemi rejected reports claiming he is demanding a double-digit million salary and a specific release clause, insisting many of the stories he reads “simply do not correspond to the truth,”
Reports in England suggest he is open to a Premier League move, with Aston Villa monitoring his situation, though it is unclear if interest will become concrete this summer. Above all, Adeyemi is calling for a direct, honest conversation with Dortmund’s hierarchy to finally bring clarity to his future.
