Karim Adeyemi: Barcelona eye move for Dortmund and Germany winger
Karim Adeyemi, the Germany and Nigeria international currently at Borussia Dortmund, is being linked with a summer move to Barcelona as the La Liga club weigh up wide attacking options.
The 24-year-old right winger, who is left-footed and valued at around 40m, is under contract at Dortmund until June 2027 but is rated a 69% chance to leave for the Spanish giants, with the Bundesliga side facing a decision over whether to cash in before he enters the final year of his deal.
Adeyemi joined Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in July 2022 for 30m and has since developed into a regular in the German top flight, contributing 23 goals and 17 assists in 98 Bundesliga appearances. His experience on the Champions League stage, where he has scored 16 goals in 48 matches, is understood to be a key factor in Barcelonas interest as they seek players proven at elite European level.
Born in Munich and a product of the German youth system, Adeyemi has already collected a series of individual honours, including being named Best Young Player at Dortmund in 2023 and earning the Fritz Walter gold medal for Germany. He was also part of the Germany Under-21 side that won the European Championship in 2021, underlining his pedigree in international competition.
Dortmund, who saw Adeyemis market value peak at 60m earlier in his time at the club, are yet to indicate publicly whether they would entertain negotiations, but the length of his contract means the Bundesliga side are under no immediate pressure to sell.
