Kano Pillars coach Usman Abdallah remains optimistic about his team’s chances as they prepare to face Shooting Stars, despite the absence of eight crucial players.
The team will be without captain Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdullahi, Zulkifilu Muhammed, and Sudais Ali Baba, all sidelined due to injuries.
In addition, Rabiu Ali, Nelson Abiam, and Aminu Adam Sani are unavailable as they fulfill international commitments, while centre-back Habibu Yakubu is suspended for the fixture.
“Playing without our key players like Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdullahi, and Rabiu Ali is a big loss. It is not easy for any team, including us,” Abdallah told the club’s media.
However, the Kano Pillars coach expressed confidence in the young players set to fill the void, encouraging them to rise to the occasion and make their mark.
Abdallah believes this situation offers a valuable opportunity for the less experienced members of the squad to step up and showcase their abilities.
“They have to surpass themselves and prove themselves on Saturday,” he added, emphasizing the importance of determination and effort.
Despite the significant setbacks, Abdallah noted the positive influence of the senior players on the younger ones, which he believes could give Kano Pillars an edge against Shooting Stars.
He praised the leadership and guidance provided by the more experienced squad members, which has helped prepare the younger players for moments like this.
Kano Pillars’ resilience will be put to the test as they aim to overcome their challenges and deliver a strong performance against Shooting Stars.
With several key players missing, all eyes will be on the emerging talents to see how they handle the pressure and seize their opportunity to shine.
