Kamel Bennekrouf: France-Algeria winger joins FC Limonest on free transfer from SC Toulon

France-Algeria winger Kamel Bennekrouf has joined FC Limonest on a free transfer from SC Toulon. The 34-year-old right-sided attacker makes the move within National 1 Group C, adding proven experience to Limonest’s forward line.

Bennekrouf, born in Sig and standing at 1.83m, arrives after a season with Toulon, whom he also joined as a free agent in 2025 from GOAL FC. His switch continues a career built largely in the French lower national divisions, where he has been a regular contributor in front of goal.

Operating primarily as a right winger and favouring his right foot, Bennekrouf has produced consistent attacking returns across National 1’s regional groups, with a combined record of 18 goals and nine assists in 63 appearances in Group C and 19 goals and four assists in 36 outings in Group A. He has also found the net in the Coupe de France, scoring five times in 13 games in the competition.

Before his stint at Toulon, Bennekrouf featured for SAS Epinal, GOAL FC and Cannes, regularly moving on free transfers and establishing himself as a familiar name across the semi-professional and professional tiers of the French pyramid. Earlier spells with clubs such as Hyeres 83, Hauts Lyonnais and Le Puy Foot further underline his extensive experience at this level.

Bennekrouf’s move to FC Limonest is a permanent free transfer completed on 29 July 2026 within National 1 Group C.
