RC Lens have set their sights on Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, with a loan bid reportedly in the works for the Ghanaian winger.
According to Foot Mercato, the Ligue 1 club is keen to bring the 22-year-old to Stade Bollaert for the remainder of the season, with an option to make the move permanent. However, Southampton has rejected the initial proposal, seeking a more lucrative deal.
Sulemana, who joined Southampton from Stade Rennais for €25m in January 2023, has struggled for consistent playing time this season, with only three league starts to his name. The Saints’ battle to stay in the Premier League appears to have limited his opportunities, and Lens are eager to provide a fresh challenge.
Despite the rejection of the loan offer, Foot Mercato reports that Southampton is open to selling Sulemana outright for €8-9m, with the inclusion of a sell-on clause. The player himself is reportedly open to the idea of a switch to the French club, potentially offering a new lease on his career.
