Kalidou Koulibaly names Rüdiger, Huijsen, and Van Dijk as his toughest opponents

Kalidou Koulibaly has revealed the three toughest defenders he faced during his time in European football, highlighting their strength, skill, and mentality.

Speaking to influencer Zack Nani on the show En roue libre, the Senegalese international reflected on his years competing at the highest level across Serie A and the Champions League.

“I’m going to put Rüdiger in because he’s a true defender,” Koulibaly said. “These days there aren’t many defenders who can completely shut down attackers, and I like that kind of defender.”

“Huijsen is good at distributing the ball,” he explained. “He has confidence and maturity beyond his age.”
