Kalba FC bring in Ghana striker Benjamin Tetteh after Maribor goal-scoring success

Ghana striker Benjamin Tetteh has joined Kalba FC from NK Maribor, moving to the UAE Pro League after finishing last season as the Prva Liga’s top scorer.

The 29-year-old centre-forward has signed a contract with Kalba FC until 30 June 2028. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move, which was completed on 27 August 2026.

Tetteh arrives in the United Arab Emirates after scoring 12 goals for Maribor during the 2025-26 campaign. That return made him the leading scorer in the Prva Liga, providing the main achievement of his time with the Slovenian club.

He joined Maribor from French side FC Metz in July 2025, having initially moved to the club on loan during the previous season. His spell in Slovenia followed a period in France, where he played for Metz after leaving English club Hull City in August 2023 in a €1.8m transfer.

The Accra-born forward began his senior career in Ghana with Tudu Mighty Jet before moving to Dreams FC. He made his first European move to Standard Liege in 2015 and later helped the Belgian club win the Belgian Cup in 2016.

Tetteh also spent time on loan at Slovakian side Slovacko before joining Bohemians 1905 in the Czech Republic. He subsequently signed for Sparta Prague in 2018 and was part of the side that won the Czech Cup during the 2019-20 season.

The right-footed striker, who stands 1.93m tall, then moved to Turkish club Yeni Malatyaspor in 2020, initially on loan from Sparta Prague before completing a permanent transfer the following year. He joined Hull City as a free transfer in July 2022 and later continued his career in France and Slovenia.

Tetteh’s move to Kalba FC adds a forward who arrives having just claimed a domestic scoring title, while the new contract keeps him at the UAE club through the end of June 2028.
