Kaizer Chiefs v AmaZulu Betway Premiership match postponed

Kaizer Chiefs’ Betway Premiership meeting with AmaZulu, scheduled for 4 November 2026, has been postponed because of a clash with South Africa’s upcoming local government elections.

The match was due to take place at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Wednesday, with kick-off at 19:30. The decision means there will be a temporary suspension of top-flight domestic football during the election period.

Kaizer Chiefs confirmed the postponement on their website, although a new date has not yet been announced.

Both sides will enter the break after progressing to the quarter-finals of the Carling Knockout Cup. Chiefs secured their place in the last eight with a 3-0 victory over TS Galaxy, while AmaZulu defeated Kruger United 1-0 in their Round of 16 tie.

The fixture would have brought together two teams with contrasting league campaigns so far.

The Soweto club are still unbeaten in the Betway Premiership, having recorded three wins and five draws from their opening eight matches. AmaZulu, meanwhile, have won six of their league games, drawn one and lost one.

The Premier Soccer League is expected to confirm the wider fixture changes formally and publish revised dates for the full round of midweek matches affected by the postponement.

The league will communicate the rescheduled details in due course. In the meantime, both Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu will turn their attention to preparing for their Carling Knockout quarter-final fixtures.
