Kaizer Chiefs to offer midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa two-year contract extension

South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs is looking forward to extending contract of enterprising midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa this summer.

The 31-year-old has established himself as a key member of the Kaizer Chiefs squad since his arrival back in 2023. With his contract set to expire in 2026, the Soweto giants have decided to hand him a new deal.

Kaizer Chiefs is set to offer the experienced midfielder two-year contract extension in an attempt to keep him beyond 2026. Negotiation for contract renewal has already begun between both parties, with the midfielder expected pen a new deal in the coming days.

AfricaSoccer.com understands talks are progressing well between both parties, with contract renewal edging closer.

The midfielder made 15 appearances in the South African League in the just ended campaign, while making three appearances in the Nedbank Cup.

As the club seeks to augment their squad with new additions, contract renewals of top players in the team remains paramount for the Soweto giants.
