Kaizer Chiefs have bolstered their defensive ranks ahead of the 2026/27 season with the signing of experienced defender Thabo Moloisane from Stellenbosch FC.

The highly-rated centre-back arrives at Naturena after establishing himself as one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier Soccer League, bringing valuable top-flight experience and continental pedigree to Amakhosi’s backline.

Moloisane leaves Stellenbosch having made 115 appearances for the Cape Winelands outfit, where he played a key role in the club’s rise as one of South Africa’s most competitive sides. His performances at club level also earned him recognition on the international stage, with the defender gaining experience with Bafana Bafana.

The 26-year-old’s arrival is expected to provide much-needed stability and leadership to the Chiefs defence as the club looks to challenge for major honours in the upcoming campaign.

In addition to his domestic experience, Moloisane brings valuable continental exposure, having featured in the CAF Confederation Cup with Stellenbosch. His experience competing against some of Africa’s top clubs is seen as a significant asset for a Chiefs side aiming to re-establish itself among the continent’s elite.

The defender is set to link up with his new teammates during the club’s pre-season preparations at Naturena, where coach and technical staff will begin shaping the squad for the challenges that lie ahead.

Chiefs supporters will be hoping Moloisane’s arrival marks another positive step in the club’s rebuilding process as Amakhosi continue to strengthen key areas of the squad ahead of the new season.

With more than a century of appearances in the PSL, international experience with Bafana Bafana, and a proven track record in continental competition, Moloisane arrives at Naturena carrying high expectations as he begins a new chapter in the famous gold and black colours of Kaizer Chiefs.
