Kaizer Chiefs return home after Spain pre-season tour

Kaizer Chiefs have safely returned to South Africa after completing their pre-season training camp in Spain as head coach Nasreddine Da Cruz shifts focus towards the club’s final preparations ahead of the new campaign.

The Amakhosi used the European tour as an opportunity to build fitness, assess new players and fine-tune their tactical approach before the start of the competitive season.

The Johannesburg giants concluded the camp with a mixed record, recording two draws and one defeat across their three warm-up fixtures.

Despite failing to secure a victory during the tour, the technical team is expected to take valuable lessons from the matches as they continue to shape the squad for the challenges ahead.

Da Cruz and his coaching staff will now turn their attention to the final two pre-season fixtures, where Kaizer Chiefs are scheduled to face Scottland FC and Lifofane.

The matches will provide the team with further opportunities to improve their sharpness and build confidence before the new season officially begins.

The final phase of preparations will also allow the coach to make decisions on his preferred starting lineup, player combinations and tactical plans as Chiefs aim to make a strong return to domestic competition.

With the Spain camp now behind them, Amakhosi will be hoping the remaining friendly matches help them enter the new campaign in the best possible shape as they look to challenge for honours.
