South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs have expressed interest in Richards Bay defender Lwandile Mabuya ahead of the summer transfer window.

Kaizer Chiefs are seeking to strengthen their squad for the next season following an inconsistent performance in the South African top-flight.

However, Kaizer Chiefs have identified Lwandile Mabuya as the perfect player to solidify the defense of the club heading into the new campaign.

The club is mulling an estimated R10 million offer to lure the enterprising right-back from Richards Bay.

The 25-year-old has performed admirably well for Richards Bay in the top-flight this season, making 17 appearances and providing two assists across the period. In all competitions, he has racked up 19 appearances, scoring one goal and delivering two assists.

Kaizer Chiefs are currently eight on the South African Premier League after 24 matches into the campaign.
