Kaizer Chiefs name 22-man squad for CAF Confederation Cup clash with Kabuscorp

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed a 22-man travelling squad for their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round first-leg tie against Angolan side Kabuscorp SCP.

The Soweto giants will leave for Luanda on Thursday afternoon, with the match set for Saturday at the Estádio 11 de Novembro.

Chiefs head into the continental fixture looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season – a 3-1 midweek loss to Sekhukhune United in the DStv Premiership.

The setback came after a five-game unbeaten start, adding extra pressure on the squad to deliver in Angola.

Uncertainty still surrounds the future of Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi, who is reported to have parted ways with Amakhosi.

The club has yet to confirm his exit but indicated that the current technical team selected the squad for the trip.

The clash against Kabuscorp will be broadcast live on SABC 2 and the Kaizer Chiefs YouTube channel, with the return leg to follow in Johannesburg next week.
