Kaizer Chiefs legend Siyabonga Nomvethe slams South Africa coach Hugo Broos

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Siyabonga Nomvethe has taken a swipe at South Africa head coach Hugo Broos following his decision not to include any player from the Amakhosi for the Worl Cup qualifiers.

The Bafana Bafana faces a must-win clashes against Zimbabwe and Rwanda this month after being declared loser in the game against Lesotho, held in March 2025.

Ahead of the matches, the Belgian tactician has unveiled his squad, omitting Kaizer Chiefs players for the high-stake clashes.

Broos claimed Kaizer Chiefs were not good enough, prompting his decision to exclude their players from the squad.

“I disagree with Broos when he claims that Chiefs didn’t have a good performance against AmaZulu,” Nomvethe told KickOff. “In all their matches this season, Chiefs have played well.”

“We’re not talking about a team that can’t even reach the goalposts. Chiefs are creating chances in every game; they just need to be more clinical in finishing them. Every Chiefs player has been outstanding so far,” the legend added.

Bafana will face Zimbabwe at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday at 18:00 and then Rwanda next Tuesday at 18:00 at the Mbombela Stadium.
